Is Being A Radiology Technician A Physicall Demanding Job / Career?

Many people wonder if being a Radiological Technician or Radiology Tech is a physically demanding job. It really depends. In general however you need a lot of energy to deal with all the patients  you get. The job can be physically demanding in the sense your on your feet all day but also emotionally demanding in having to have these procedures means someone is ill or injured and that can be tough on you watching others in pain.

In addition to just being on your feet all day you may need to lift and/or turn patients who are eldergly, disabled, or injured. Oftentimes with a heavier patient a women technologist may have a male co-worker help them lift a patient but everyone SHOULD be able to turn patients on their own or they really shouldn't be doing the job.

You generally won't have to move around any heavy equipment as the diagnostic imaging equiptment is usually located in a specific area but some employers may require you to do house calls for certain patients.
