Sonography is ultrasound. Radiology is xray, mri, cat scan. Different jobs and different classes. Being a radiologic tech used to be the first step to getting your degree in ultrasound so in the past many sonographers had the background as a radiologic tech. Now most programs are open to individuals without a medical background so there's not necessarily the need to be a radiology tech before going to classes for sonography. Hope that helps.
