I hear rumors that an Radiology Tech has the ability to make over 90k a year. Is that Possible?

Many people are interested in becomming radiology techs because they hear about the high pay and the relatively short period of training or schooling to become accredited, only two years.

That said I think the idea of making 90k as a tech though not impossible is not inline with normal circumstances. In the past there were shortages of techs and techs were in high demand. Not only could you hold down a steady job but could also freelance and stop by doctors offices and clinics after work.

Today however the field is somewhat saturated so techs are not as in demand, it's harder to find jobs, pay isn't as great as it used to be.

As a tech with a bachelors degree you can go into management or teaching which will pay more. As for your question about making 90k. Maybe for a travel tech who has the ability to do CT, MRI, mammograms, sonography, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy.

So the answer is under the right circumstances yes but don't expect to make 90k. I would say 45k is more inline with what the actual pay is for someone who is just a radiology technologist.
